Eric is the managing partner of D4EnergySolutions.  He has been in the electrical power industry for over 30 years starting his career as a utility substation engineer.  Over the years, Eric has worked with several global manufacturers of electrical equipment including ABB, Efacec, CG and WEG mainly focused on transformers and electrical systems. 

Polo Rodriguez Berlanga

Transformer Engineer with testing experience on a variety of Power Transformers, both Core and Shell type as well as Distribution Transformers. Polo has managed Test Laboratories for various Manufacturers in US and Mexico during his 30 years of experience. As independent inspector/consultant, he has been witnessing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) and performing pre-tanking inspections for US clients in multiple factories in the US, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia. He has participated in FAT failures and the after-failure-analysis, is familiar with transformers construction, its various components, and the manufacturing process. Polo also worked in several Test Lab Expansion and upgrading projects. 

Ray Catlett, PE

Forty+ years in electrical power design (69kV-480V), maintenance technical support and system analysis for petrochemical plants, offshore platforms, power plants, data centers, power utilities, and pulp & paper mills.  Prepared power system analyses, equipment specifications, standards development, medium voltage motor applications and technical support to operations and maintenance in utility powerplants, refineries and industrial facilities.  Performed in the roles of design engineer, project manager, corporate technical consultant and maintenance supervisor.

Mark Perkins

Mark graduated from Brigham Young University in 1975 with a master’s degree in electrical engineering.

He holds of several patents and authored many technical papers on transformer testing.

He has over 30 years of membership and leadership in the IEEE Transformers Committee.  This includes chair of working group on low frequency high-voltage testing and chair of working group on PCS revisions of the test code, C57.12.90.  Accomplishments included the introduction of partial discharge testing in C57.12.90, and also revision and modernization of the test code in many areas.

 Recognized as one of the leading experts in transformer factory (FAT) and field testing and awarded Outstanding Contributor Certificate by the IEEE Transformers Committee in 2015.

David Cain

40+ years of continuous career progression within the power transformer industry. Including all facets of Core Form design in new and repair manufacturing, inspection, field service, failure analysis and the development of employees.  Worked as a transformer specialist in all aspects of transformer assembly. Served in management for over 30 years including from factory Floor Supervision to Operations and Quality Manager.

Juan Villa

Power Transformer Consultant with broad experience on IEEE standards tests at factory, as well as Power Transformers on site.

Quality Assurance Manager with broad experience in coordinating, developing and implementing ISO 9001 QS, as well as QS Auditor focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the QS Management Systems.

Steve Metz

Served in management for over 20 years including factory floor supervision, Field Service Manager, and Factory Test Floor Manager.
