Eric leads D4EnergySolutions, LLC, bringing more than 30 years in the electrical power industry. He began his career as a utility substation engineer and worked with ABB, Efacec, CG and WEG, focusing on transformers and electrical systems. His utility and manufacturer experience supports practical technical review and independent consulting for customer projects.
Mark Perkins
Senior Transformer Testing Consultant
Villa Ridge, Missouri, USA
Mark specializes in transformer factory and field testing. He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University and has authored technical papers and holds patents. His more than 30 years of IEEE Transformers Committee membership and leadership include work on low-frequency high-voltage testing, partial discharge testing and revisions to IEEE C57.12.90. The committee recognized him with an Outstanding Contributor Certificate in 2015.

He has held management roles for more than 30 years, from factory floor supervision to operations and quality management, and brings hands-on manufacturing knowledge to customer inspections and technical assessments.

Juan brings extensive transformer manufacturing, factory testing and quality assurance experience, including leadership of OEM test laboratories. He supports FAT witnessing, manufacturing surveillance, factory qualification audits and test report review. His background includes large power and distribution transformers, ISO 9001 quality systems and transformer oil processing and dissolved gas analysis. Juan holds a mechanical and electrical engineering degree from UANL and works in English and Spanish.

Steve brings more than 48 years in the power transformer industry, including over 38 years in factory and field testing and more than 20 years in management. His experience spans core- and shell-form transformers, assembly, winding and test floor leadership. His background includes Westinghouse/ABB, CG Power, H-J and EPS. He supports FAT witnessing, manufacturing inspections, test result review and technical training.

Joshua brings more than 15 years of transformer manufacturing, quality, testing and service experience. He specializes in dissolved gas analysis and dielectric fluid test interpretation, with laboratory leadership experience at NASS and EPS and process engineering and testing experience at ABB. He supports FAT witnessing, condition assessments and quality audits. Joshua holds a chemical engineering degree, ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor certification and an ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt.

He holds an electrical engineering degree and participates in IEEE transformer standards work.

Jan brings more than 25 years in transmission and distribution, including former factory leadership with Ganz and CG and transformer R&D experience with AREVA and ALSTOM. He supports D4 customers through FAT witnessing, manufacturing inspections, vendor audits and technical reviews. His background includes transformer calculation models, magnetic circuits, cooling systems and manufacturing quality assessment. Jan holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University in Groningen.
Eduardo Tolcachir

Eduardo brings more than 30 years of industrial experience, including two decades of transformer technical management. He led power transformer design and development through 200 MVA / 245 kV and directed a multidisciplinary engineering team at Tubos Trans Electric. He supports D4 customers through independent design reviews, manufacturing inspections, factory acceptance test (FAT) witnessing, manufacturing audits and final product inspections. His background also includes high-voltage test bay management. Eduardo participates in IEEE transformer standards work and speaks Spanish and English.

Orlete brings a 38-year utility career at COPEL in Brazil, with experience in transformers and other equipment through 500 kV. He supports FAT witnessing, core and coil inspections, manufacturing surveillance, factory capability assessments and transformer condition assessment. His experience includes large power transformer FAT inspections and delivery of more than 20 operation and maintenance training programs. Orlete speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish.
